Grain Bins

Earning your grain business, bushel by bushel

You have many choices for marketing your grain. At Kanza Cooperative, we understand this and continually strive to make your decision an easy one by going the extra mile and being available when you need us.

Our personal attention makes a difference. Because Kanza offers fertilizer, seed, fuel and other inputs, we can sit down as a team and plan those purchases alongside grain sales to lock in margins.

Know that when you bring your grain to Kanza Cooperative, we will strive to provide the most efficient service for you. Getting trucks in and out of the elevator and back to the field as quickly as possible is your goal – and ours.

How to sell? It’s your choice.

FIXED PRICE

Fixed Price

A contract with a fixed price for a specific delivery requirement. It’s also known as a flat price contract. One advantage is this contract fixes a quantity and price, so there is no further price risk. Conversely, there is no chance for further price increases on the contracted grain.

BASIS

Basis

A basis contract lets you lock in a basis level but leave the futures price open until a later time. This may be an attractive choice when local prices are strong but you believe the futures price may move higher.

HEDGE TO ARRIVE (HTA)

Hedge to Arrive (HTA)

An HTA contract offers you the choice to lock in only the futures price portion of your cash contract for a specific quantity to be delivered in the future. The basis can be set at a later date but must be done before delivery. This contract can be advantageous when futures prices are strong, and it leaves open the opportunity for improvement in the basis. However, it also takes away the chance to benefit from further gains in the futures price.
